Up in the Sky, Junior Birdmen

We were out in the Valley of Fire a few days ago with friends and saw two amazing (at least to us) sights. At a place called "Mouse's Tank," where there is a small pond of water, pretty much the entire year, we saw at least two bats at mid-day. They were here and there so fast I had no chance for a picture. We see bats here frequently but usually only at dusk and dawn. Sometimes Meg's street has swarms at dusk during the insect season and whatever they eat is so small we never actually see or feel the bugs.

A bit later in the day we saw a Raven dueling with a Red Tailed Hawk and I was able to get some shots.

After about 5 minutes a second Hawk joined in.

As soon as the Hawks flew off the Raven landed nearby and told us all about the fun.
