Shakespeare & the Mountains

Trudy and I are just back from a trip to the Utah Shakespeare Festival and an excellent performance of “Coriolanus” in a reproduction of the original Globe Theatre. Started in 1962 it reminds us of the Stratford Ontario Festival

Main Overlook – Cedar Breaks, Utah

We went for a hike up the mountain in Cedar Breaks, an amazing canyon on the Virgin River . It's just above Zion Canyon and has hoodoos instead of cliffs.

In the woods at Cedar Breaks – above 10,000’

Around 10,000' there are numerous alpine meadows separated by woodlands that are very similar to the Adirondacks.

Scott’s Pond Adirondacks NY – 3500’

The similarity to one of my favorite spots in the Adirondacks is uncanny.

The Alpine Meadows up high in Utah have no real Eastern equivalent. I can only guess what it would be like up here after a winter storm. Maybe I have to go back to find out.

More as it happens
