Comfortable in Nevada

We have been away for a while and just got back from a week at Lake Tahoe. This involves driving almost 500 miles to Carson City/Reno and climbing (in the car) up to the lake at 6000' I won't even begin to describe how beautiful it is but I did get some pictures.

Climbing up from Genoa, Nevada's oldest settlement

This was our chance to explore a bit of northern Nevada so it was off to Virginia City, Genoa, Squaw Valley, the Reno Art Museum and Truckee/Donner Pass.

The Priors joined us for a few days including lunch at Squaw Valley.

In honor of Jeff Foxworthy I'm starting a collection of sayings about our new home.

You Might Be Getting Comfortable In Nevada When…

You stop saying “Why do all the speed limit signs have holes in ‘em?”

You learn that "The Win" is Vegas speak for, not for how much the tourists won but how much they left in the casinos.

You don't freak completely at a Black Widow in the house.
